Third World Union Symposium Draws 5000
NORTH CHICAGO, IL – Nearly 5,000 people from 70 nations convened in Toronto last week for the Third World Union of Wound Healing Societies Symposium. Held every four years, this is the world's leading multinational symposium in its field.
Several of well-known members of the international diabetic foot/amputation prevention community served as “captains” and headed up the diabetic foot symposium.
"It was a privilege to again be a part of such a spectacular and inspiring event," said David G. Armstrong, Professor and Director of the William M. Scholl College's Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR) at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago.
Dr. Armstrong served as one of the international program leaders with Drs. Jan Apelqvist of Sweden, Steven Kravitz and Robert Frykberg of the United States and AJM Boulton of Great Britain.
The meeting, which concluded Sunday, was chaired by Professor Gary Sibbald of the University of Toronto, the President-Elect of the World Union of Wound Healing Societies.
