Armstrong Delivers Commencement Address to Healthcare Graduates of 700-year-old Spanish University, Receives Honorary Professorship
NORTH CHICAGO, IL – David G. Armstrong, DPM, PhD, Professor of Surgery and Associate Dean at the Dr. William M. Scholl College's Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago delivered the commencement address to healthcare graduates at Complutense University in Madrid, Spain before approximately 3000 faculty, students and guests.
At that healthcare studies commencement ceremony Dr. Armstrong was also awarded an honorary professorship.
"The opportunity to address to our future practitioners over various disciplines is a unique thrill,” said Dr. Armstrong. “It is clear that the training these young men and women have had includes a great deal of positive mentorship."
The topic of mentoring and guidance was the theme that pervaded the speech, peppered with anecdotes from Dr. Armstrong's career in podiatric medicine and life as the son of podiatrist Dr. Leo N. Armstrong.
The Complutense University of Madrid, founded in 1293, is one of the oldest universities in Europe and the world. According to annual rankings conducted by the El Mundo daily newspaper, Complutense University ranks as the top public university in Spain. It serves approximately 61,000 undergraduate and 30,000 graduate students.
