SALSA's Armstrong given APMA's Award of Excellence
ALBUQUERQUE, NM. In a ceremony held today following his keynote lecture, David G. Armstrong, DPM, PhD, Professor of Surgery and Director of the University of Arizona's Southern Arizona Limb Salvage Alliance (SALSA) was awarded the American Podiatric Medical Association's Award of Excellence by APMA President, Dr. Ross Taubman. "I am honored beyond words to receive this award", noted Armstrong. I think, however, this is more of an award acknowledging the growth of a profession and a field of study more than it is that given to a specific person." Armstrong, who has published more that 260 manuscripts and lectured on six continents, last year became the 25th and youngest ever entrant into the Podiatric Medicine Hall of Fame. "I think I'd like to dedicate this award to my pop, the late Dr. Leo Armstrong, who showed me what wisdom and doctoring can be. I hope someday to live up to be half the man he was."
